You are invited to a Surrealist Poetry Salon at ChagallPAC on Artists’ Row, 24 New Derby St. Salem, MA 01970, between the hours of 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6th, 2023. This is a welcoming space to create for writers of all experience. Come take a seat in the poetry circle for as long as you like. You will be invited to choose from several writing prompts meant to explore the bridges between dreams and reality, between the unconscious and conscious realms, and mysterious, uncanny, and fantastic elements. Optionally share a reflection about your process or an excerpt of your writing if you wish. This is your time to reflect, write, create, and share.
This salon will be led by poet & teacher Diana Norma Szokolyai, Co-Director of ChagallPAC and Artistic Director of Cambridge Writers’ Workshop. She is author of the poetry collections Parallel Sparrows and Roses in the Snow, and editor of CREDO: An Anthology of Manifestos & Sourcebook for Creative Writing. She holds an M.F.A. in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts, an Ed.M in Arts in Education from Harvard, and an M.A. in French from University of Connecticut.
