In the open sea of the page, words carry meaning in relation to each other and to the space. Space is a kind of punctuation, directing the attention of the reader through the poem. The members of this panel, Danielle Legros Georges, David Donna, Martha Collins, and Mary Buchinger, will discuss their thoughts about space and the process of arranging their poetry into lines, isolated words, stranded phrases, etc. Drawing on examples from their own work, each poet will share their perspectives on connections between form and content in relation to the use of space.
